Premier, Inc. announced the appointment of Emad Rizk, M.D., as Chief Executive Officer, President and Chairman of the Board. 

Dr. Rizk brings more than three decades of experience in leadership and transformation across the healthcare ecosystem. As a physician and operator, he has built and scaled organizations that translate actionable data into better decisions and stronger outcomes.

Dr. Rizk most recently served as Chairman, CEO and President of Cotiviti, where he led the company’s transformation into a multibillion-dollar platform supporting payment accuracy, cost management and value-based care. Earlier, he led R1 RCM through a full operational transformation and scaled McKesson Health Solutions into a leading analytics and technology business.

“I’ve seen healthcare from every angle, and I know what is at stake for Premier’s members,” said Dr. Rizk. “Providers are being asked to do more with less in an environment that is only getting more complex. Premier has the scale, the data and the relationships to help providers make better decisions and deliver better outcomes. This is where we can make the greatest impact.”

Dr. Rizk has been recognized numerous times by Modern Healthcare as one of the “100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare” and among the “50 Most Influential Physician Executives.” He also serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of Chicago Medicine, where he works closely with academic and clinical leadership.
