Oman Health Minister Chairs High-Level Meeting to Advance Healthcare Quality and Align with Vision 2040 Goals

H.E. Dr. Hilal bin Ali bin Hilal Al Sabti, Minister of Health-Oman, chaired a high-level leadership meeting on Wednesday at the Ministry of Healthโ€™s headquarters.

The meeting reaffirmed the Ministryโ€™s commitment to enhancing healthcare performance and advancing the quality of health services across the Sultanate of Oman.

The meeting aims to foster constructive dialogue, sharing ideas and perspectives, and promoting coordination and collaboration to improve community healthcare services.

The meeting was attended by Their Excellencies the undersecretaries of the Ministry, advisors, central general directors, representatives from the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Office, and officials from relevant departments.

In his opening remarks, H.E. the Minister commended the dedicated efforts of all healthcare professionals and highlighted the Ministryโ€™s strong commitment to achieving the highest standards of quality and excellence in healthcare services for citizens. He also stressed the importance of conducting a thorough assessment of the health systemโ€™s performance.

The meetingโ€™s agenda included several key topics, with a focus on aligning efforts with the health objectives of Oman Vision 2040 and driving institutional excellence. Discussions also covered the outcomes of recent evaluations of the healthcare system.

Improving public satisfaction indicators regarding healthcare services was another core objective of the meeting, along with strategies for rebalancing the distribution of medical services and specialties, and ensuring sustainability in the healthcare system for all.

The discussion also highlighted the need to modernize the IT infrastructure across the Ministryโ€™s healthcare and administrative institutions.

On the topic of human and financial resources, the meeting addressed the critical challenges facing specialized healthcare programs, with emphasis on developing solutions to ensure the continuous availability and advancement of specialized medical personnel.

The meeting also explored effective strategies to enhance financial resource management, aiming to boost the efficiency of healthcare services. In addition, discussions addressed the importance of fostering a flexible work environment, including a review of employment contracts and recruitment systems to ensure the attraction and retention of skilled professionals.
