The International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers & Associations (IFPMA) delivered a statement at the 2026 UN High-Level Meeting on HIV/AIDS in New York, reaffirming support for global efforts to end AIDS as a public health threat by 2030.
In its address, IFPMA welcomed the Political Declaration adopted by Member States and emphasized the need for country-led, evidence-based implementation strategies to sustain progress in HIV prevention, treatment, and care. The organization noted that while significant advances have been achieved, continued political commitment, funding, and collaboration remain essential.

IFPMA highlighted the role of biomedical innovation in transforming HIV care, enabling people living with HIV to lead healthier and longer lives. The federation also called for sustained investment in research and development to accelerate progress toward an HIV vaccine and a functional cure.

The organization stressed the importance of strengthening regulatory pathways, sustainable financing, supply security, and equitable access to innovative therapies. IFPMA said it remains committed to supporting global HIV responses through research, manufacturing, partnerships, and practical solutions that advance long-term public health outcomes.
