Sidra Medicine has expanded its medical education efforts with the launch of a new Medical Observership Program and the continued rollout of its Future Doctor Program, creating learning opportunities for both aspiring and established healthcare professionals.

The new observership initiative offers structured, non-clinical learning experiences for healthcare professionals, trainees, medical students, and academic visitors. Participants can observe clinical workflows, multidisciplinary care models, patient safety practices, and operational standards across specialties such as pediatrics, womenโ€™s services, neonatology, surgery, and diagnostic support services.

Prof. Ibrahim Janahi, Chief Medical Officer and Chair of Medical Education at Sidra Medicine, said: โ€œAt Sidra Medicine, education is a cornerstone of our mission and a critical investment in the future of healthcare. By creating meaningful opportunities for students, trainees, and healthcare professionals to learn from experienced clinicians and multidisciplinary teams, we are helping develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to meet the evolving healthcare needs of our communities. These programs reflect our commitment to fostering talent, advancing medical education, and inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals.โ€

Alongside this, the Future Doctor Program continues to introduce secondary school students aged 15 to 18 to healthcare careers through simulation-based learning, mentorship, department visits, and first aid and emergency response training. Hosted at Sidra Medicineโ€™s Simulation Center, the five-day program also includes certification opportunities accredited by the American Heart Association.

โ€œEarly exposure to healthcare environments can play a transformative role in shaping career aspirations,โ€ added Dr. Hammad. โ€œThe Future Doctor Program enables students to engage with healthcare professionals, experience medical learning in a highly interactive environment, and gain a deeper appreciation for the dedication and expertise required in healthcare. It is an investment in the future talent that will one day serve our communities.โ€

Together, the two programs reflect Sidra Medicineโ€™s long-term commitment to building a skilled healthcare workforce by supporting students, trainees, and professionals at different stages of their medical education journey.
