  • This collaboration with both government and private partners is aimed at giving people with autism the care and support they need, especially in healthcare, and uplifting families to be active partners in their journey. โ€œOur goal is to build a nurturing environment where they can grow and thrive, as we work toward a brighter, more inclusive future for everyone,โ€ H.E. Dr. Hussain Abdulrahman Al Rand said.

The agreement aims to create a healthier and more inclusive community environment that facilitates the integration of individuals with autism into society. It also focuses on developing sustainable programs to ensure effective support. The initiative is part of the Ministryโ€™s efforts to achieve the goals outlined in the National Strategy for Wellbeing 2031.

The MoU was inked at the Ministryโ€™s headquarters in Dubai by H.E. Dr Hussain Abdul Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Undersecretary for the Public Health Sector, MoHAP, and H.E. Majid Sultan Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Board of Emirates Autism Society in the presence of senior officials from both sides.

Empowering People With Autism:

The partnership is set to empower individuals with autism to actively engage in their communities while enhancing the capacity of healthcare providers to effectively support them.

The MoU outlines five initiatives, including the launch of the โ€œAutism Ambassadorโ€ program in collaboration with the World Health Organization to train and support families and caregivers.

It also involves organizing a workshop to address the impact of climate change on the health and well-being of autistic children, aiming to strengthen the communityโ€™s response to these challenges. Additionally, a digital platform will be developed to improve access for people with autism to the various services and benefits offered by the country.

This collaboration with both government and private partners is aimed at giving people with autism the care and support they need, especially in healthcare, and uplifting families to be active partners in their journey. โ€œOur goal is to build a nurturing environment where they can grow and thrive, as we work toward a brighter, more inclusive future for everyone,โ€ H.E. Dr. Hussain Abdulrahman Al Rand said.

Meanwhile, Saqr Al Hemeiri, Director of the Strategy and Future Department, said that the MoU represents a strategic step as part of MoHAPโ€™s ongoing efforts to support people with autism.
