M42 has entered Africa through a 10-year strategic partnership with Botswanaโs Ministry of Health, marking the healthcare companyโs first health systems partnership on the continent.
The partnership will support Botswanaโs digital health transformation, national genomics programme, precision medicine and local capacity development. M42 and Mubadala Bio will also collaborate on pharmaceutical and medical equipment supply to strengthen the countryโs medical supply chain and improve access to essential healthcare products.

The agreement aligns with Botswanaโs efforts to achieve Universal Health Coverage and aims to build a more resilient, sustainable and technology-enabled healthcare system. M42 will bring its expertise in AI, digital health, genomics and precision medicine to support the countryโs long-term healthcare transformation.
Commenting on the agreement, Dimitris Moulavasilis, Group Chief Executive of M42, said: โM42 has been accelerating our efforts to showcase our healthcare capabilities across the Global South, where we see a distinct opportunity for nations to leapfrog legacy systems and build digital and AI native health systems that are prevention first.
