IDEXX Laboratories, a global leader in pet healthcare innovation, has announced two major advancements in veterinary cancer diagnostics aimed at helping veterinarians detect canine cancer earlier and more accurately.
The company is expanding its IDEXX Cancer Dx Panel to include canine mast cell tumor detection, with the launch expected across North America by mid-2026. Currently, more than 5,500 veterinary practices across the United States and Canada already use the panelโs lymphoma test, which can detect the disease up to eight months before visible symptoms appear.

The addition of mast cell tumor detection will be offered at no additional cost, with results available within two to three days and no changes required to existing clinical workflows.
Alongside this expansion, IDEXX has also introduced FNA cytology on its inVue Dx Cellular Analyzer, enabling veterinarians to evaluate skin masses and identify suspicious cells while pet owners remain in the clinic.

Mast cell tumors are among the most common cancers in dogs and are often mistaken for harmless lumps, making early and accurate diagnosis particularly important. Together, these advancements are expected to support detection across more than one-third of all canine cancer cases, helping veterinary teams make faster and more informed treatment decisions.
