Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Boehringer Ingelheim to strengthen clinical research, healthcare innovation, workforce development, and patient outcomes in Qatar. The collaboration supports the country’s efforts to build a more advanced, evidence-based healthcare system.

The partnership will enhance HMC’s Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) by strengthening research capabilities and clinical trial infrastructure, helping attract more international studies to Qatar while creating greater opportunities for local researchers to contribute to global medical innovation.

The MoU also focuses on advancing Health Technology Assessment (HTA) through capacity building and infrastructure development. The initiative aims to support evidence-based evaluation of medicines, medical devices, and digital health technologies, enabling more informed healthcare decision-making and efficient resource use.

Mr. Ali Al Janahi stated, “This collaboration represents an important step in strengthening Qatar’s clinical research ecosystem and supporting our ambition to deliver world-class healthcare through innovation, evidence-based practice, value-based healthcare, and international collaboration. By expanding opportunities for clinical trials, enhancing research capabilities, and strengthening expertise, we are creating new opportunities to advance patient care and improve health outcomes for the people of Qatar as well as having a sustainable health system. We are pleased to partner with Boehringer Ingelheim in support of these shared goals and look forward to the positive impact this collaboration will have on healthcare in Qatar.”
