Kingwood, Texas- November 2024- HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood announced the appointment of Adrian Moreno as chief operating officer (COO), effective November 18, 2024. Moreno brings extensive experience and a strong track record in healthcare leadership, having most recently served as COO and ethics and compliance officer at HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball.
During his tenure at HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball, Moreno demonstrated remarkable leadership, achieving a significant EBITDA growth from 2021 to 2023. Under his guidance, the hospital implemented operational strategies that increased the volume of elective surgery, joint and spine procedures and cardiovascular procedures. Additionally, he expanded the bariatric surgery program which led to the hospital’s Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) Comprehensive Center Accreditation.
As the executive sponsor for the Orthopedic Joint and Spine Programs, Morendo drove substantial growth in total joint and orthopedic spine volume in 2024. His leadership in the cardiovascular service line also led to increased cardiac catheterization procedures, all while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality.
Moreno’s commitment to excellence is exemplified by his achievement of a zero percent surgical site infection (SSI) rate in 2023, along with a significant increase in employee engagement scores over two years.
