Dubai’s pet care sector has a new clinical entrant built around prevention rather than reaction. Aura Veterinary Center has launched in Dubai Investment Park, introducing a Fear Free-certified team, minimally invasive surgical capabilities, and a preventative care model to a UAE market that counts over 1.5 million pet owners and more than two million pets.
Developed by The Petshop as the clinical arm of its broader pet care ecosystem, Aura positions itself as both a primary care clinic and a specialised referral destination, operating under the brand philosophy of “Where Science Meets Wellness.”
Every member of Aura’s clinical team holds individual Fear Free certification, an internationally recognised framework developed by veterinary behaviourists that links animal stress reduction directly to diagnostic accuracy. The clinical rationale centres on a straightforward premise: a stressed animal produces elevated heart rate, spiked blood pressure, and a compromised physiological state, all of which can skew the medical data a veterinarian relies on.

The clinic’s physical environment is designed to reinforce that standard. Species-specific features including a dedicated cat-friendly waiting area, dog cocoons, and separate recovery wards are built to reduce biological stress triggers before any examination begins, with the aim of producing calmer animals, more reliable readings, and more accurate health assessments.
Aura’s clinical offering centres on comprehensive wellness checks covering multiple life stages, including senior pets, recently adopted animals, and those managing chronic conditions. The model is built on the premise that data and early diagnosis can identify risk before it develops into disease. A Wellness Club extends that philosophy beyond the clinic, offering members access to curated educational content, preventative care insights, and monthly expert-led workshops hosted at the centre.

Amr Hazem Youssef, CEO of The Petshop, described Aura as the next step in building a connected network for pet families across the UAE, with the existing portfolio spanning nutrition, grooming, relocation, daycare, boarding, aquatics, and retail, supported by a super app. “This is the beginning of a studied journey to create and develop a connected ecosystem for pet care, where every day needs and medical needs finally sit within one trusted network,” he said.
A second Aura branch is planned within the same quarter. The UAE holds the largest pet care market in the Gulf, and demand for comprehensive veterinary services is outpacing what the current landscape offers.
