Fakeeh University Hospital has achieved accreditation under the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI), a globally recognised programme launched by the World Health Organization and UNICEF.
The accreditation recognises hospitals and birthing centres that meet international standards in maternal care, breastfeeding support, skin-to-skin practice, rooming-in, and evidence-based newborn care.
The hospital said the milestone reflects its commitment to providing safe, compassionate, and family-centred care for mothers, babies, and families.

BFHI accreditation also highlights the hospitalโs focus on supporting and empowering parents through expert lactation support, evidence-based guidance, and personalised maternity care.
Fakeeh University Hospital credited its maternal and newborn care teams, including nurses, midwives, lactation consultants, educators, physicians, and support staff, for contributing to the achievement.
The hospital stated it will continue strengthening its approach to person-centred maternity and newborn care in line with international best practices.
