UAE- His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, has announced the distinguished Dr. Hani Najm as the inaugural recipient of the Great Arab Minds (GAM) award in the field of medicine. Hailing from Saudi Arabia, Dr. Najm, Chair of Paediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery at Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, US, receives honors for his outstanding contributions and innovations in pediatric heart surgery. He has successfully conducted over 10,000 intricate heart operations on patients with complex conditions.
Sheikh Mohammed revealed this recognition via his official X (formerly Twitter) account, marking Dr. Najm as the first luminary celebrated under the Great Arab Minds initiative. Launched in 2022, the initiative has swiftly gained the title ‘Arab Nobel Prize’ for its commitment to identifying and honouring outstanding Arab talents across diverse fields.
