Dub6: The second day of the 22nd Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference and Exhibition (DIHAD 2026) focused on strengthening humanitarian practices through innovation, partnerships and capacity building.

Held under the theme “Humanitarianism in Transition: Shaping the Future of Humanitarian Action,” the programme brought together humanitarian leaders, government representatives, international organisations, experts and academics to discuss emerging challenges and more effective approaches to humanitarian response.

Key activities included the First Aid World Cup 2026 finals and awards ceremony, as well as the IFRC–DREF GCC Conference, which focused on improving regional cooperation and coordination during emergencies.

The First Aid World Cup featured 162 teams from 85 Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies across five regions, with 15 teams reaching the final stage. Competitors took part in challenges covering innovative first aid and resuscitation, emergency response scenarios and public awareness.

High-level discussions also addressed water and sanitation, food security, local capacity building and the use of emerging technologies in humanitarian action. The event continues to provide a platform for international cooperation, knowledge exchange and practical solutions aimed at building a more resilient and sustainable humanitarian system.
