Dubai, UAE- January 2025 – The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has signed an agreement with global healthcare technology leader Siemens Healthineers during its participation in the Arab Health Exhibition and Congress. The partnership aims to facilitate the exchange of radiology images between healthcare facilities connected to the NABIDH system, which links over 1,500 healthcare providers and securely stores more than 9.5 million medical records.

The agreement was signed by Mona Bajman, CEO of Corporate Shared Support Services Sector at the DHA, and Vivek Kanade, Managing Director of Siemens Healthineers for the Middle East and Africa.

NABIDH, an acronym for Network & Analysis Backbone for Integrated Dubai Health, is a cornerstone of DHA’s strategy to digitise healthcare services. It ensures that every patient in Dubai has a single, comprehensive electronic medical file accessible across all healthcare providers.

This collaboration underscores DHA’s commitment to strengthening the digital infrastructure of Dubai’s healthcare sector. By delivering high-quality medical services that align with the aspirations of patients and the wider community, the Authority is advancing its vision of positioning Dubai as a global hub for innovation and excellence in healthcare.

Mona Bajman highlighted the significance of this agreement, which will contribute to supporting the smart transformation of the healthcare sector in Dubai. She highlighted that the integration of Siemens’ advanced technologies with the Nabidh system will enable doctors to access medical information seamlessly, reducing errors and increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of healthcare services. This will expedite the exchange of medical data and radiological images between healthcare institutions, enhancing diagnostic accuracy and improving patient experience.

Dr Mohammed Al Redha, Director of Health Informatics and Smart Health at the DHA, highlighted the agreement’s importance as a key milestone in enhancing digital integration among healthcare facilities across the emirate.

“The expansion of the NABIDH project to include diagnostics and imaging marks a significant step forward in our vision for a streamlined healthcare system,” said Al Redha. “This integration reinforces our commitment to improving patient outcomes and strengthens Dubai’s position as a leader in global health innovation.”

The agreement ensures that the NABIDH portal now incorporates diagnostic imaging alongside access to comprehensive medical histories. This facilitates improved diagnoses, enhances treatment quality, supports timely medical decision-making, and ultimately elevates patient care across Dubai.

Siemens Healthineers expressed pride in its partnership with DHA and reaffirmed its commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions that drive digital transformation in the healthcare sector.

Vivek Kanade, Managing Director of Siemens Healthineers for the Middle East and Africa, said: “The unification of patient data represents a significant advancement in healthcare accessibility across Dubai, empowering patients and enhancing the capabilities of healthcare providers.”

Mohamed Ghazi, Managing Director Digital and Innovation, Middle East & Africa at Siemens Healthineers adds “Syngo.Carbon is our future-proof platform, designed to improve patient care and the connecting element that gives rise to knowledge. By integrating this solution into the NABIDH platform, we are opening a new level of possibilities in image interpretation, reporting, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and data management”.
