The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi has ordered the temporary closure of five healthcare facilities and suspended their staff, with cases referred to the Public Prosecution following the discovery of major violations during routine inspections and monitoring activities.
According to the authority, the action forms part of a comprehensive regulatory framework designed to ensure that all healthcare providers meet stringent standards of quality and transparency. The violations were addressed swiftly to protect public health and safety.
The identified breaches included issuing sick leave certificates without proper medical examination or patient presence in exchange for payment, as well as falsifying medical records and official documents and sharing them through unauthorized channels. Additional violations involved employing unlicensed healthcare professionals and failing to comply with licensing requirements, including adherence to approved medical record systems and professional protocols.

The Department confirmed that the closures will remain in place until the conclusion of both criminal and administrative investigations. Licenses of the involved staff have also been suspended in line with applicable disciplinary regulations.
The authority has urged the public to report any concerns or violations through official channels, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining high standards of healthcare delivery. It also called on all healthcare facilities in Abu Dhabi to strictly adhere to regulations to ensure patient safety and uphold transparency, accountability, and quality in healthcare services.
