Bassett Healthcare Network is expanding the use of advanced surgical and non-surgical treatments for patients with gallbladder disease, aiming to reduce hospital visits, shorten recovery times, and improve patient comfort.
The health system is utilizing Laparoscopic Common Bile Duct Exploration (LCBDE), a minimally invasive technique that combines gallbladder removal and bile duct stone treatment into a single procedure. The approach can help reduce hospital stays, lower healthcare costs, and streamline recovery for patients.

For individuals who are not suitable candidates for surgery, Bassett is also offering advanced endoscopic treatment using Axios stents. The technology creates an internal drainage pathway for blocked bile flow, providing a less invasive alternative to traditional external drainage methods and improving patient outcomes.
