UAE- 09 July 2024- Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah, a flagship healthcare facility of Emirates Health Services (EHS), has taken a pioneering step in advancing medical training in interventional cardiology. The hospital proudly announces the acquisition of the latest cardiac catheterization simulator from “HeartRoid”, featuring three advanced simulation models tailored for treating different heart diseases. This strategic initiative underscores the EHS’ dedication to integrating cutting-edge technologies to enhance medical staff efficiency and elevate patient safety standards.

Dr. Arif Al Nooryani, Director of Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah, emphasized that embracing modern technologies aligns with the goals of Emirates Health Services (EHS) to support the UAE’s vision for advancing and sustaining the healthcare sector. This commitment involves enhancing healthcare services, integrating cutting-edge technologies and medical practices, and continuously enhancing the efficiency of medical staff to deliver top-quality healthcare to the community.

Al Nooryani highlighted that the introduction of the first-of-its-kind cardiac catheterization simulator in the Middle East demonstrates a dedication to enhancing local medical capabilities and creating an exceptional learning environment for aspiring physicians. This highlights the increasing focus on providing top-quality medical services by enhancing the skills of doctors and specialists in interventional cardiology through realistic simulation experiences for intricate medical procedures.

Cardiac Simulation for Safe Coronary Intervention

The first simulation model allows training in coronary artery procedures without the necessity of conducting them on real patients. It offers a consistent training setting that mirrors heart arteries, decreasing risks linked to conventional training on heart stent procedures. This innovative technology stands as a top modern approach for medical staff training, elevating their expertise and enhancing healthcare standards. Physicians can refine their skills and practice intricate procedures in a safe environment using this model, providing a realistic experience that enhances their confidence and effectiveness in managing real cases.

Simulation for Aortic Valve Replacement

The simulation model for aortic valve replacement is among the most cutting-edge models available. It enables training in this complex procedure without exposing patients to the risks of actual surgery, which is crucial given the intricacy of these operations and the vulnerability of patients with valve stenosis. This technology provides a safe training environment for physicians, enhancing treatment outcomes and increasing success rates in surgical procedures without compromising patient safety.

Simulation for Treating Electrical Cardiac Disorders

The third model is a simulation model for cardiac electrophysiology, a novel area where experiments are carried out through simulation. It is user-friendly and offers lifelike heart visuals to train physicians in conducting cardiac ablation procedures using three-dimensional maps. This model creates a safe and easy-to-navigate training environment, aiding in preparing physicians
for successful precision procedures and boosting their expertise in this advanced field. Through this technology, physicians can enhance their abilities in accurately and effectively diagnosing and treating cardiac electrical disorders.
