12 June 2024- Earlier this year, M42, a global tech-enabled health powerhouse, partnered with Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children (GOSH) in London, heralding a new era of global healthcare excellence in the Middle East. This collaboration has already seen a significant step forward in enhancing pediatric critical and complex care, working towards the emirate’s ambition of becoming a premier global destination for pediatric care.

At the heart of this collaboration lies an intensive training program aimed at enhancing the skills of caregivers at Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children. This initiative seeks to enhance patient experiences, uphold international standards, and foster a culture of continuous learning.

Jemma Tarr, Senior Director of Clinical Operations at Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children, who initiated this partnership, said, “For the high caliber of care it provides to children, GOSH is renowned throughout the globe. The fact that we are working together demonstrates our dedication to providing the best care possible for the children of the UAE. This further demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that our clinical teams maintain their professional growth and continue to deliver the highest standard of care.”

Eid Al Fitr in Danat Al Emarat Hospital was special. Know Why?

Dr. Summia Zaher, Medical Director, Consultant, Obstetrics & Gynecology at Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children underscores the transformative impact of this partnership, saying, “By empowering healthcare professionals with specialized skills, we ensure a higher level of care for young patients.”

Dr. Vineet Gupta, Head of Neonatal Services at Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children, highlights the critical role of nurses in patient management, citing the success of recent nursing education programs. He says, “The six-week online course, followed by two days of face-to-face training in Abu Dhabi, comprehensively covered nurses’ skills, clinical aspects of supporting parents and ethical issues. It also served as a bridging course, harmonizing different healthcare systems and practices, ensuring a cohesive understanding and application of best practices.”

Natalie Howard, Clinical Resource Manager at Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children, says, “We are dedicated to enhancing pediatric care through comprehensive training and continuous professional development. Our partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children exemplifies our continued pursuit for world-class expertise and specialized skills. This enables us to provide the highest standard of care and advance healthcare excellence in the region.”

Chris Rockenbach, Managing Director International and Commercial at GOSH said, “We are delighted that the partnership has already started to deliver some of the intended benefits of the memorandum of understanding. The engaging and forward-thinking nature of the program board has identified that the collaboration will deliver further benefit across key areas, including patient care, education, training, and development, as well as genomics and research.”
