Bupa Arabia Cooperative Insurance Company has invested SAR 84 million in its health insurance programme for orphans since its launch in 2011. The initiative currently supports between 2,000 and 3,000 orphans annually through more than 34,000 policies issued to date. The company highlighted the programmeโ€™s achievements at the Global CSR Forum 2026 in Riyadh, organised by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.

Delivered in partnership with the Ministry, the programme operates through 25 orphan care centres across 12 Saudi cities. It provides health coverage with an annual limit of up to SAR 500,000 per beneficiary. In 2025, the programme settled 22,985 medical claims worth SAR 11.5 million and processed 11,911 pre-authorisation requests, with 78.6% approved based on medical evidence. It also responded to 91% of requests within ten minutes.

Tal Hisham Nazer, Chairman of Bupa Arabia, said: โ€œCorporate social responsibility is not limited to launching initiatives or providing support. It is about fulfilling commitments and turning them into sustainable, measurable impact. Over the past 15 years, we have remained committed to providing health coverage for orphans, driven by our belief in the importance of continuity of care and ensuring that it reaches those who need it most. We believe that applying the companyโ€™s expertise and core capabilities to serve beneficiaries is one of the most important aspects of corporate social responsibility. We have therefore worked to provide health services that meet the needs of orphans, supported by clear processes for cases requiring exceptional approvals.โ€

Beyond insurance coverage, Bupa Arabia supports orphans through educational, career development and volunteering initiatives. These include providing school supplies, organising career-readiness workshops and arranging community activities. In 2025, 148 employee volunteers participated in Eid visits reaching 300 orphans, while the company also supported healthcare needs requiring exceptional approvals, including prosthetic and reconstructive treatments.

The companyโ€™s wider social responsibility programme extends to people with disabilities, cancer patients, older adults and families in need through healthcare visits, home rebuilding, donations and blood donation campaigns. Bupa Arabia said its approach focuses on sustainable impact, employee participation, strategic partnerships and measurable outcomes, reinforcing its commitment to expanding healthcare access and community support across Saudi Arabia.
