Doha, Qatar: Msheireb Museums and Sidra Medicine have hosted the fourth session of the 2026 Science Café series, focusing on the safe and informed use of prescription medicines, dietary supplements and personalised treatment approaches.
Held at Bin Jelmood House under the theme “Beyond the Label: Medications and Supplements”, the session brought together healthcare and research experts to discuss how evidence, professional guidance and individual factors can influence medication and supplement use.

The panel examined the effectiveness, safety and regulation of vitamins, minerals and herbal products, while also discussing pharmacogenomics and personalised dosing. Speakers highlighted how genetic information may increasingly help healthcare professionals tailor medication choices and dosages to individual patients.

The session featured experts from Aspetar, Hamad Medical Corporation and Sidra Medicine, including specialists in pharmacy, research, precision nutrition and advanced scientific support. The discussion also addressed patient education and the importance of clear communication between healthcare professionals and the public.
The Science Café series aims to make complex medical and scientific topics easier for the community to understand through open, evidence-based discussions. Launched in 2024, the initiative is free and open to the public, bringing together community members, students, researchers and healthcare professionals.
