Dhahran, Saudi Arabia: Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) has achieved Magnet Recognitionยฎ with Distinction from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) across all five of its campuses, marking a major milestone for nursing excellence and patient care.

The recognition covers JHAH facilities in Dhahran, Ras Tanura, Al-Hasa, Abqaiq and Udhailiah. The organisation is the first multi-hospital system outside the United States to secure this level of Magnet recognition through a single, system-wide, multi-site appraisal.

Dr. Howard Podolsky, Chief Executive Officer of Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare, said: โ€œThis is an extraordinary achievement for JHAH and, above all, a recognition of our nurses and the colleagues who support them every day. Achieving Magnet with Distinction across all our sites demonstrates the standard of excellence our teams have built throughout JHAH.โ€

The achievement also gives JHAH three ANCC recognitions with Distinction: Magnet Recognitionยฎ, Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP) Accreditation and Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD) Accreditation.

The Magnet assessment reviewed eight consecutive quarters of clinical and patient experience data. JHAH exceeded international benchmarks across eligible inpatient units for several measures, including hospital-acquired pressure injuries, device-related pressure injuries and peripheral intravenous infiltrations. In ambulatory settings, the organisation also outperformed benchmarks for falls with injury, patient burns and surgical errors.

Dr. Hani Ayyad, Chief Nursing Officer at Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare, said: โ€œThis recognition belongs to our nurses, whose expertise, leadership and commitment to patients are at the heart of this achievement. To achieve this standard consistently across our entire system is particularly meaningful. Our focus now is on sustaining these standards, continuing to develop nursing talent and raising the bar for the patients and communities we serve.โ€

The organisationโ€™s nursing workforce includes approximately 1,600 professionals, with Saudi nationals representing 23%. JHAH continues to support nursing development through professional education, transition-to-practice programmes and international knowledge exchange.
