The 31st edition of the Dubai International Pharmaceuticals and Technologies Conference and Exhibition (DUPHAT 2026) concluded at Dubai World Trade Centre after three days of scientific discussions, industry engagement and business networking.

The event generated approximately AED 10.3 billion in direct and indirect trade deals, highlighting Dubaiโ€™s growing role as a hub for pharmaceutical business, innovation and healthcare collaboration.

This yearโ€™s conference brought together pharmacists, healthcare professionals, researchers, industry leaders and policymakers to discuss how emerging technologies are reshaping pharmacy. Key discussions covered artificial intelligence, precision medicine, biotechnology, medication safety, research and the future of pharmacy education.

A major focus was the responsible use of AI in pharmacy, with participants calling for stronger digital skills, ethical safeguards, data protection and human oversight. The conference also stressed that healthcare innovation should ultimately improve patient outcomes and safety.

Other recommendations included preparing pharmacists for personalised medicine and pharmacogenomics, modernising pharmacy education, strengthening medication-safety systems and encouraging closer collaboration among healthcare professionals, academia, regulators and industry.

His Excellency Amb. Prof. Abdulsalam AlMadani Chairman of DUPHAT and DUPHAT International Scientific Council (DISC) Roving Ambassador of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) for the GCC Region, said: ย โ€œDUPHAT 2026 once again demonstrated the strength and growth potential of the pharmaceutical sector, bringing together leading experts, healthcare professionals, researchers, industry leaders and decision-makers from around the world to exchange knowledge, explore emerging technologies and build meaningful partnerships.”

DUPHAT 2026 concluded with a call for the pharmacy sector to turn scientific knowledge and technological advances into practical improvements in patient care, while preparing for the evolving needs of healthcare.

Dr Farida Alkhaja, Chair of the Scientific Committee of DUPHAT 2026, said the most important message emerging from the conference was that โ€œthe future of pharmacy will not be defined by what we know, but by what we do with what we know.โ€
