The Quadripartite collaboration on One Health, comprising FAO, UNEP, WHO and WOAH, has agreed to extend the One Health Joint Plan of Action (OH JPA) through 2029, extending its original 2022โ2026 implementation period. The extension will give countries greater continuity to plan and scale One Health priorities under a shared global framework.
The extended plan will continue supporting multisectoral action to prevent, detect and respond to health risks affecting humans, animals, plants and ecosystems. It also aligns with the renewed Quadripartite Memorandum of Understanding covering 2025โ2030, supporting continued technical assistance, advocacy and resource mobilization.

During the extension period, the four organizations will review progress, document lessons learned and assess emerging One Health priorities to shape the next phase of the action plan. The initiative aims to strengthen global collaboration and support countries in advancing One Health priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals through 2030.
