Saudi Arabia’s Registered Healthcare Practitioners Surpass 800,000

The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties revealed that the number of registered healthcare practitioners in the Kingdom surpassed 801,000 by the year 2025.

The workforce includes around 460,000 Saudi practitioners, alongside healthcare professionals from 140 countries, highlighting the Kingdom’s diverse healthcare workforce.

In 2025, 12,590 practitioners graduated from Saudi Board and health academy programmes, while 10,920 training seats were available in health specialization programmes, a 17% increase compared with 2024.

The year also saw a record 5,540 graduates, the largest graduating class in the commission’s history, while 25,880 trainees continue their specialist training programmes.

The commission continues to regulate health professions, develop training and academic programmes, conduct professional examinations, and strengthen healthcare workforce capabilities in line with international standards and Saudi Arabia’s health sector development goals.
