Abu Dhabi has opened applications for its 2026 Healthcare Research and Innovation Fund to support advanced research aligned with the emirateโs long-term health priorities.
The Department of Health โ Abu Dhabi, the emirateโs healthcare regulator, in partnership with the Authority of Social Contribution โ Maโan, has announced the opening of applications for the 2026 edition of Abu Dhabiโs Healthcare Research and Innovation Fund. The fund is inviting submissions from researchers, healthcare institutions, and innovators seeking support for projects that advance healthcare innovation.

The 2026 edition is designed to back high-quality research initiatives that contribute to the advancement of precision medicine, enhance early disease detection, and strengthen data-driven clinical decision-making. The programme places a strong emphasis on research that can translate into tangible health outcomes aligned with Abu Dhabiโs evolving healthcare priorities.
Key focus areas include precision medicine and omics-based diagnostics, cell and gene therapies, cancer diagnostics and treatments, metabolic and cardiovascular diseases, neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative disorders, behavioural and mental health conditions, reproductive endocrinology and infertility, as well as public health and population-based interventions. Proposals will be assessed on scientific quality, feasibility, collaborative impact, and alignment with the emirateโs long-term strategic health objectives.

The application portal is now live on the DoH website. Eligible stakeholders are encouraged to review the published guidelines and timelines before submitting their proposals.
