Dr. Fatima Al Kaabi, Director General of the Emirates Drug Establishment, stressed that Commemoration Day is a promise and a pledge that the sacrifices of the UAEโs sons will forever remain in our nationโs record of glory, alive in our hearts and inspiring us to continue the path of giving and development.

In a statement on Commemoration Day, Al Kaabi said: โOn this day, we proudly and gratefully recall the heroes of the UAE who gave their pure lives in defence of the nation and its dignity. They chose to stand at the front lines, protecting its flag and safeguarding its land, writing with their noble blood chapters of honour and pride that will always bear witness to the UAEโs strength and resilience. Their legacy will remain a source of inspiration for generations to carry forward the journey of service, sacrifice, and nation-building.โ
She added: โUnder the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, supporting the families of the martyrs has become a national priority, ensuring that the message remains clear: the nation never forgets those who sacrificed their lives for it.
โStanding by the families of the martyrs embodies the loyalty and devotion our heroes planted in our hearts and demonstrates that the UAE continues its journey with confidence, inspired by their legacy of sacrifice and selflessness,โ Al Kaabi stated.

Commemoration Day is a national occasion dedicated to honoring the UAEโs martyrs who sacrificed their lives in military, civil, and humanitarian service to the nation. Declared in 2015 by the late President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan in remembrance of Salem Suhail Khamis, the first Emirati soldier to give his life in the line of duty in 1971, the day stands as a national symbol of honor and recognition. It reflects the UAEโs enduring respect, gratitude, and commitment to preserving the legacy of its heroes and strengthening the nationโs unity and resilience.
