seasoned pharmacy leader

Overview

Ahlam Alqudaimat, a seasoned pharmacy leader with over 15 years of experience in hospital and community pharmacies across the UAE and UK, and an Advisory Board Member at Gulf Medical University. She combines deep pharmaceutical expertise with a forward-thinking approach to advancing healthcare education.

For Alqudaimat, life’s greatest joys often come in the smallest packages. “Hearing my sons’ laughter never fails to brighten my day. No matter how stressful life can get, their joy reminds me of what truly matters,” she reflects. This simple pleasure serves as her anchor, grounding her in gratitude and presence amid life’s demands.

Her approach to work-life balance is both intentional and restorative. After demanding workweeks, she prioritizes what matters most: “I usually recharge by spending quality time with my family and reading a book. It allows me to slow down, connect, and create memories away from the busyness of work.”

Nature plays a crucial role in her renewal process. While she appreciates both indoor and outdoor activities, her heart clearly belongs to the outdoors. “Walking by the beach at sunset is my favorite, it clears my mind and fills me with peace. I also enjoy walking in forests, green areas, and mountains, as nature always recharges me in a way no indoor activity can.”

The foundation of her character traces back to her greatest inspiration, her father. “He taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of kindness. Watching how he handled life’s challenges with strength and grace has shaped the way I face my own,” she shares. His influence continues to guide her philosophy that “challenges are temporary, but integrity and compassion leave a lasting mark.”

Had her path taken a different turn, Alqudaimat would have chosen education and coaching. “I enjoy guiding, mentoring, and inspiring others to reach their potential. Sharing knowledge and helping people grow is something I find deeply fulfilling,” she explains, recognizing the common thread between healthcare leadership and empowering others.

Perhaps her most valuable insight comes from a hard-learned lesson about leadership itself. “Early in my leadership journey, I tried to do everything myself, believing that taking on more proved my dedication,” she admits. “Over time, I realized that leadership is not about doing it all, but about building trust, delegating, and empowering others.”

Her advice to future leaders is clear and powerful: “Your team is your greatest strength, success is always a shared effort.” Through family laughter, nature walks, and collaborative leadership, Alqudaimat demonstrates that true success lies not in individual achievement, but in lifting others while staying grounded in what matters most.
