Dr Nahla Abdul Razzaq Kazim is a distinguished leader in Reproductive Medicine and Fertility Preservation, with over 25 years of exemplary experience. She is the founder of Kazim’s Fertility Barza – the first-of-its-kind initiative in the region launched in the UAE in November 2024, dedicated to promoting community awareness and engaging dialogues with peers on reproductive wellbeing. Dr Nahla is a Consultant in Reproductive Medicine and Infertility, and Director of Fertility Preservation at Bourn Hall Fertility Centre, Al Ain. Her previous appointments include Fakih IVF, Tawam Fertility Center and Mafraq Hospital.
Dr Nahla’s academic accomplishments are exceptional. Following an MBBS degree from the Jawaharlal Lal Nehru Medical College, India, she attained an MSc and a PhD in Reproductive and Developmental Sciences from the University of Edinburgh, UK. She was the first UAE Ob-Gyn physician to earn both a Master’s (2001) and Doctorate (2010) in this field. Deeply interested in cutting-edge technologies in fertility preservation, she is a Fellow in “Regenerative Medicine in Infertility” of the International Association of Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine (IASRM). Highlighting her pivotal role as part of the Emirati workforce in advancing healthcare in the country, she is certified in Clinical Genomic Medicine and Genetic Counseling by Harvard Medical School International Center for Genetic Disease, through a special collaborative program with the Department of Health (DOH) designed to support UAE’s National Genome Strategy.
Dr Nahla Kazim has made significant contributions to Fertility Preservation, Oncofertility care, Reproductive Endocrinology and management of couples with Infertility. She is renowned for her pioneering work in integrating Metaverse (MV), Virtual (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies into fertility treatments, becoming the first in the UAE to explore and use these innovations. Her expertise and passion for knowledge sharing is exemplified in her roles of Adjunct Assistant Professor in Ob-Gyn at UAE University and Gulf Medical University, abstract reviewer for the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) Scientific Congress, grant reviewer for the ASRM Research Institute and Member of the Editorial Board for Journal of MAR Gynecology and Urology.
