December 2024- AnimalhealthEurope has announced the appointment of Pieter-Jan Serreyn as its new Technical Director, succeeding Rick Clayton, who is set to retire at the end of 2024.

A Belgian national, Pieter-Jan Serreyn brings extensive experience in veterinary medicine and regulatory affairs. He began his career in veterinary practice in France before returning to Belgium to work at the Official Medicines Control Laboratory, where he supported regulatory authorities in vaccine quality controls. Serreyn also holds over a decade of corporate experience, having worked with several leading animal health companies.

Rick Clayton, who has served AnimalhealthEurope for 27 years, will retire in December. Clayton joined the association in 1997 as Technical Manager when it was known as FEDESA, having relocated from the UK to Belgium. Throughout his career, he has played a crucial role in representing manufacturers of animal medicines, vaccines, and health products across Europe. In addition to his work with AnimalhealthEurope, Clayton served as Technical Director for the global association HealthforAnimals, contributing significantly to international efforts to harmonize veterinary product registration requirements.
