Qatar – July 2024- The National Center for Cancer Care & Research (NCCCR) at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) proudly hosted the 4th Qatar International Hematology Conference on 7 and 8 June 2024.
Over two scientifically intensive days, experts from around the globe gathered in Doha to engage in insightful discussions, share expertise, and collaborate on the future of hematology care in the region.
Professor Honar Cherif, Chairman of Hematology and BMT at NCCCR and Conference Chairman, remarked that the conference was a resounding success, marked by a vibrant convergence of leading experts, researchers, and practitioners in hematology from around the globe. He said:” The diverse sessions ensured a comprehensive exploration of both clinical and research aspects of hematology, catering to the interests of all attendees. The conference provided participants with hands-on experience and the opportunity to engage directly with leading experts.”

Professor Mohamed Yassin, Head of Hematology at NCCCR and Conference Co-Chair, highlighted: “The scientific program featured the latest updates, ongoing controversies, and cutting-edge advancements in hematology, including acute and chronic leukemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, myeloproliferative neoplasms, and lymphoma. The conference included 42 lectures from experts from Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Sweden, Spain, Egypt, the GCC, and Qatar.”
Dr. Anas Hamad, Director of Pharmacy at NCCCR and Conference Co-Chair, noted: “The conference was the most significant hematology event ever held in Qatar and one of the largest in the GCC region. Over 500 physicians, pharmacists, nurses, allied healthcare professionals, researchers, students, and pharmaceutical industry representatives attended the event.”
Overall, the 4th Qatar International Hematology Conference in Doha was a landmark event. It brought together global experts and showcased pioneering innovations in the field.
