Daily bathing might be a routine for most kids, but have you ever wondered if it's healthy? Or even necessary?
Washing our hands regularly everyday, prevents infection, and is a necessity. But a full-body washing? Short answer — No!
Daily bathing can wash away natural oil and bacteria in their skin that’s meant to keep them healthy. Hence leading to irritated and dry skin.
Harvard health says, it's fine to skip the bath if the kid isn't stinky, covered in visible dirt, or hasn’t been into any water body.
Bathing twice or thrice every week is enough for kids. For some, even once or twice will do.
You can always go for a quick wet-wipe to clean the face, groin area, and any dirty spots when not having a bath.
Certain skin conditions require tailored advice from the doctor for bathing. Make sure to consult them!
Bonus tip — keep the bathing session short, with warm water, using mild, unscented soap or shampoo and under supervision.
