The decisions you take every day can make or break your life. Dr. Asim Safdar lists down a few daily decisions to think twice about.
Amidst the rise in junk & processed foods in the market, a Mediterranean diet is ideal — a healthy mix of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, fibre and hydration.
Our bodies are designed for movement, and so, engage in moderate-intense physical activity for at least 2.5 hours every week.
This choice has now turned into an absolute necessity. Engage in breathing exercises. If not, yoga & meditation works wonders too.
Sleep deprivation is a common phenomena today. Ensure you get 7-9 hours of sleep every night. Consistent sleep schedule is the key.
Loneliness poses similar risks like that of smoking & obesity. Not many know that meaningful conversations add year to your life. Regularly engage with family, friends & communities.
Walk 10 minutes, eat more veggies, replace harmful drinks with water, or meditate for 5 minutes — start small but start today. Lastly, go for regular check-ups.
Ultimately, the choices we make daily not only affect how long we live but how well we live. - Dr. Asim Safdar
