Stay hydrated, eat well, and get enough sleep to counter low energy. Frequently disinfect surfaces & open windows for ventilation.
Learn to spot flu-like symptoms and lesions of Mpox to quickly identify if you or someone close has been infected.
Spending days and weeks in isolation can take a toll on your mental health. So, engage in some fun activity, exercise, and contact virtually.
The bathroom, utensils, electronics, towels, bedding, clothes, etc. must be separate. If unavoidable, clean it well with soap or disinfectant before sharing.
Rinse your mouth using salt water, use baking soda or Epsom salt during a warm bath, and swallow down paracetamol to ease the pain.
Clean the rashes using sterilized water or antiseptic; and pat dry. Don't scratch; keep it uncovered unless people get closer to you.
In case of severe pain and discomfort, consult a healthcare worker. After you have recovered, use condoms while having sex as a precaution for about 3 months.
