Dr. Musab Aldhari is a highly esteemed Internal Medicine and Palliative Care Consultant recognized for his expertise in complex medical decision-making, patient-family communication, and holistic care. His dedication to palliative care has significantly improved the quality of life for patients with serious illnesses, ensuring their care aligns with personal values and preferences.
Dr. Aldhari earned his medical degree from the School of Medicine at Qassim University, Saudi Arabia. He is double board-certified in Internal Medicine and Palliative Care from King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre and pursued advanced training in palliative care and complex symptom management at the University of Toronto, Canada.
With a strong foundation in internal medicine and palliative care, he specializes in managing complex conditions, including oncology and non-oncology-related palliative care, as well as symptom management for advanced diseases. He is also a dedicated advocate for medical education, focusing on communication in palliative care, ethical decision-making, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Actively mentoring healthcare professionals, he emphasizes the importance of compassionate, patient-centered care.
Dr. Aldhari has played a pivotal role in advancing palliative care initiatives across the Arab world. He was instrumental in establishing AYA Palliative Care, a pioneering program designed for adolescents and young adults with serious conditions. This initiative integrates holistic care, involving extended team members: social affairs representatives, advanced palliative care nurses, and mental health professionals to provide comprehensive support.
A leader in palliative care education, Dr. Aldhari has organized high-impact training programs and educational events, including those for International Hospice and Palliative Care Day, highlighting the role of palliative care in improving patient outcomes and optimizing healthcare resources. He also co-founded the first medically trusted Arabic palliative care encyclopedia, providing accessible, evidence-based knowledge for healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers.
As the Director of the Palliative Care Fellowship Training Program, and Continuous Training Committee at the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, Dr. Aldhari has played a key role in shaping palliative care training in the region. The palliative care fellowship at KFSH&RC achieved triple accreditation from SCFHS, ESMO, and IAHPC, reinforcing its status as a premier training program.
His vision focuses on enhancing communication in palliative care, ethical decision-making, and patient-centered care, ensuring his influence extends across clinical, educational, and cultural spheres.
