Overview
Dr. Joseph K. Joseph, a specialist in Internal Medicine and Diabetology at Zulekha Hospital Dubai, is a native of Kochi, Kerala state, India. Dr. Joseph received his schooling in both Saudi Arabia and India. He completed his MBBS from Tribhuvan University, Nepal, and his MD in Medicine from Ramaiah Medical College, Bengaluru, in 2014. Dr. Joseph holds multiple certifications in diabetes, hypertension, and asthma from the Public Health Foundation of India. In 2020, he was awarded a diabetes fellowship from Diabetes India for his achievements in spreading awareness about newer anti-diabetes drugs.
Dr. Joseph initially worked at Aster Medcity Kochi and Rajagiri Hospital Kochi, both JCI-accredited hospitals, for 2 years before joining VPS Lakeshore Hospital in 2016. During his tenure at Lakeshore, he was promoted to Consultant Internal Medicine in 2017 and was actively involved in managing complicated internal medicine cases and uncontrolled diabetes cases using newer molecules. He received wide acclaim for creating awareness of newer molecules like incretins and SGLT2 inhibitors among the public and peer groups. Dr. Joseph widely published useful articles on diabetes and fever in the media and was extensively featured on TV. In 2020, he was part of the core team managing COVID-19 cases at Lakeshore and individually saved over 600 cases.
In 2022, Dr. Joseph was awarded the Best Diabetologist at the national level by the Economic Times Healthcare Awards in Delhi. He received the Elets Global Award for Diabetes in Dubai in 2023. In 2024, Dr. Joseph was once again awarded the Best Diabetologist at the UAE Mastermind Awards. His compassion and communication skills toward patients are his main driving force. Additionally, he serves as a speaker faculty for various companies.
