02 April 2026 In the framework of the Oman-Belarus Joint Committee for Investment and Cooperation Meeting, hosted on Wednesday by the Oman Investment Authority, His Excellency Dr. Hilal bin Ali Al-Sabti, Minister of Health, received on Thursday H.E. Dr. Aleksandr Khajayeu, Minister of Health of the Republic of Belarus, along with his accompanying delegation.

During a cordial meeting, the two ministers exchanged views and discussed matters of mutual interest. They later held a broader meeting to explore ways to expand partnership and cooperation between the two sides across several health-related fields, building on the visit of His Excellency the Omani minister to the Republic of Belarus in 2025 and the memorandum of understanding previously signed between them.

The meeting culminated in the signing of a road map on cooperation in the field of healthcare and pharmaceuticals, outlining general directions for the development of legal framework and covering areas such as the organization of medical care, medical education, and pharmaceuticals and medical equipment.

Following the signing of the roadmap, His Excellency Dr. Al-Sabti affirmed that international cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and other countries is a fundamental pillar for benefiting from the experiences and expertise of other nations in various fields.

He also noted that the visit of the Belarusian Health Minister came as part of reciprocal visits between the two countries and builds on the previously signed memorandum of understanding that has already begun to yield results through several cooperation areas.

The visiting delegation also visited the National Virtual Health Center, where they received a detailed explanation of its departments and the important role it plays.

Furthermore, His Excellency Dr. Hilal Al-Sabti accompanied his Belarusian counterpart on a tour of the Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care and Research Centre and Sultan Qaboos University Hospital. During the visit, they toured various departments of the two health facilities, where the Belarusian Minister was briefed on their specialties, modern equipment, advanced diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, and the high-quality health services provided.
