In commemoration of Emirati Women’s Day, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) in the United Arab Emirates has unveiled a groundbreaking initiative to bolster women’s healthcare through a unified national policy, in collaboration with strategic partners.

This pioneering initiative aims to provide tailored healthcare services to meet the unique physical and psychological needs of women across all stages of life. The development of a comprehensive national policy underscores the UAE’s commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services for women.

Key Pillars of the National Policy

The forthcoming policy will be founded on key principles, including leadership support, effective governance, gender equality in health, a holistic life cycle approach to women’s health, and a steadfast commitment to quality and inclusivity in healthcare services for women. It also emphasizes the integration of women’s health considerations across all policy domains and promotes the principle of shared responsibility.

Commitment to Women’s Health

Abdulrahman bin Mohamed Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, reaffirmed the UAE’s dedication to promoting healthcare standards and sustainable development in the health sector. He emphasized that women’s health is not just an integral part of this vision but a testament to the nation’s commitment to its citizens.

Al Owais further highlighted that the development of a national policy to advance women’s health is a reflection of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This initiative underscores the essential role of women in shaping future generations and contributing to the nation’s progress, leadership, and development.

Unified National Framework for Women’s Health

In conjunction with Emirati Women’s Day celebrations, the MoHAP organized a workshop aimed at creating a unified national framework to enhance women’s health. The workshop brought together representatives from health authorities, officials, public health and health education experts, and partners from various sectors dedicated to promoting women’s health.
