The emirate’s licensed facility count climbed to around 5,800 by the close of 2025, against 5,340 recorded twelve months earlier, translating to an expansion rate exceeding 8 percent within a single year. The current network spans a wide spectrum of care settings, encompassing 55 hospitals, 68 specialised clinics, 60 day-surgery centres, 70 general dental clinics, 126 general medical clinics, 222 home healthcare centres, and 101 alternative medicine centres, a composition that speaks to the depth and diversity of services now accessible to residents and visitors alike.
Dr. Alawi Alsheikh-Ali, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority, attributed the sharp facility expansion to the confidence investors have placed in the emirate’s regulatory architecture. He pointed to a legislative environment characterised by clarity, flexibility, and forward-thinking incentives as the driving force behind the growing appetite of multinational medical institutions to establish and scale operations in Dubai.
Beyond infrastructure, Dr. Alsheikh-Ali framed the healthcare sector as an active contributor to the emirate’s broader national development agenda, one that advances societal wellbeing not simply by building facilities, but by assembling a world-class professional community that supports long-term economic and social progress. He noted that Dubai’s appeal to healthcare practitioners stems from its combination of career advancement pathways, professional stability, and an enabling regulatory climate.
Dr. Asma Al Sharif, Acting CEO of the Health Regulation Sector at the DHA, highlighted the direct connection between facility growth and Dubai’s standing as a destination of choice for medical visitors. She indicated that the rising number of accredited hospitals and specialist centres continues to elevate the emirate’s profile in health tourism, drawing individuals who prioritise both clinical excellence and overall quality of life.
Taken together, the 2025 figures chart a healthcare sector advancing with clear intent expanding its physical footprint, deepening its talent base, and steadily building the institutional credibility that underpins Dubai’s vision of becoming a global benchmark for innovative, accessible, and high-quality medical care.
