Dubai has launched the region’s first International Sports and Entertainment Free Zone Cluster at One Central, adjacent to the Museum of the Future. Spearheaded by the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council and Dubai Sports City, the new cluster is designed to position Dubai as a global powerhouse for sports, wellness, and entertainment entrepreneurship.
The initiative merges modern legal frameworks with world-class infrastructure, offering a dynamic space for wellness companies, sports academies, media platforms, and creative ventures. It provides 100% foreign ownership, long-term tax exemptions, and streamlined licensing, creating an attractive ecosystem for investors and global talent in health, fitness, and entertainment.
“The new Free Zone is more than a business hub—it’s a forward-looking platform for creative and wellness-focused industries to thrive,” said a DIEZ spokesperson. “From sports law and athlete management to wellness services and cultural programming, this cluster redefines how these sectors operate under one legal and economic framework.”
Backed by laws such as Federal Sports Law No. 8 of 2014 and DIEZ’s own advanced regulatory model, the zone is expected to:
- Create new opportunities in sports wellness, legal consulting, event management, and tech-driven fitness.
- Encourage cross-border collaboration in wellness tourism, media, and innovation.
- Support fast-tracked visas and permits to attract international expertise.
The initiative also aligns with Dubai’s broader sustainability and economic diversification goals, reinforcing its vision as a future-ready wellness and lifestyle destination.
