Healthpoint, part of the M42 Group, has partnered with Proximie to introduce real-time surgical intelligence across its main operating rooms in Abu Dhabi, aiming to improve surgical coordination, scheduling and patient care.

Powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and supported by Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure, Proximieโ€™s platform is designed to analyse surgical activity as it happens and help teams anticipate potential delays. The technology aims to enable clinical and operational staff to monitor surgical schedules, make data-informed decisions and manage operating-room capacity more effectively.

The collaboration follows a memorandum of understanding signed during the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit 2026. Healthpoint will be the first hospital within the M42 network to implement the technology, which is intended for use across all its operating rooms and surgical procedures.

By providing real-time insights into surgical workflows, the platform aims to strengthen coordination among surgical, anaesthesia, nursing and perioperative teams. Identifying emerging delays earlier could help healthcare professionals adjust schedules, improve the use of existing operating-room capacity and support more predictable surgical journeys for patients.

Omar Al Naqbi, Chief Executive Officer of Healthpoint, said: โ€œFor patients, a well-coordinated surgical journey means greater clarity, fewer avoidable delays and a smoother experience from preparation through to recovery. Though this collobration, we aim to give our teams a real-time view of surgical activity, this technology will help them anticipate challenges earlier, coordinate care more effectively and plan with greater confidence, supporting a more seamless experience for every patient.โ€

Dr Nadine Hachach-Haram FRCS, BEM, Founder and CEO of Proximie, said: โ€œOperating rooms generate valuable information throughout every surgical day, but much of it has historically been captured manually or reviewed after the fact. Our surgical intelligence platform turns that information into real-time intelligence, helping teams anticipate how the day will run and direct the right next step to the right team at the right moment. We are proud to partner with Healthpoint and M42 to works towards bringing this capability into daily surgical practice and support timely, data-informed care in Abu Dhabi.โ€

The initiative supports Abu Dhabiโ€™s wider ambition to advance technology-enabled healthcare, with the potential to inform broader implementation across the M42 network.
