Dover, Ohio- 3 July 2024- Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital is set to invest $7 million in its radiation oncology services, marking a major enhancement in cancer care for the Tuscarawas Valley. The Ohio General Assembly has demonstrated its support for the project by approving $1 million for the upgrade.

The project, due to begin later this year, will involve the installation of new radiation therapy equipment in the hospital, with the enhanced facility projected to open in 2025.

Union Hospital worked closely over the past year with State Senator Al Landis and State Representative Brett Hillyer to support the inclusion of these funds in HB 2.

During this transition period, patients will have access to radiation oncology services at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital. Tri-County Hematology & Oncology Associates at Union Hospital will continue providing infusion therapy treatments and care as usual, unaffected by the ongoing project.
