The Al Shifaa Summit for Integrative Medicine will return to Abu Dhabi for its second edition from October 20 to 22, 2026, at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, as part of Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit 2026.
An initiative of the UAE Integrative Medicine Council, the event will bring together healthcare professionals, researchers, practitioners and innovators to discuss developments in integrative medicine under the theme โTradition, Science and the Future of Integrative Medicineโ.
The programme will cover Emirati traditional medicine, complementary practices, scientific research, education, regulation, quality and patient safety. Discussions will also explore how artificial intelligence and emerging technologies can support the fieldโs development.
The three-day summit will feature an interactive exhibition, the Exchange Hub and the Pledge Zone. The exhibition will highlight traditional knowledge, scientific foundations and the development of evidence-based practices. The Exchange Hub will host discussions on clinical research, regulation, education and collaboration, while the Pledge Zone will invite visitors to engage with integrative medicine through a digital experience inspired by the UAEโs traditional aflaj irrigation system.

Her Excellency Safeya Abdulazeez Al Maqtari, Acting Secretary General of the UAE Integrative Medicine Council, said: โThe UAE Integrative Medicine Council continues to develop the integrative medicine ecosystem in the UAE by supporting governance and regulation, and strengthening research and evaluation. This work recognises the diversity of traditional and complementary practices and their integration with conventional medicine to support a more holistic approach to healthcare. It involves moving from describing knowledge and practices to understanding their scientific foundations and evaluating them against clear standards of quality and safety, establishing a clearer and more responsible basis for its development.โ
The summit will provide a platform for knowledge exchange and partnerships to support the responsible development of integrative medicine in the UAE.
