Johns Hopkins Childrenโs Center recently hosted representatives from two hospitals in Taiwan for a nine-day programme focused on pediatric and neonatal transport care.
The visiting teams from National Taiwan University Childrenโs Hospital and Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital worked with specialists from pediatric anesthesiology and critical care medicine, emergency medicine and neonatology to exchange knowledge and experiences in transporting critically ill children and newborns.

The programme covered key areas including the development of pediatric and neonatal transport teams, patient triage, transport logistics, community outreach and education. Healthcare teams from both countries also shared approaches to managing pediatric and neonatal transfers within their respective health systems.
During the visit, the Taiwanese representatives observed the Childrenโs Centerโs pediatric transport team during critical care transfers and took part in a simulation exercise involving the transfer of a pediatric trauma patient.

The programme also included tours of Childrenโs Center ambulances, the Johns Hopkins Simulation Center, pediatric emergency trauma bays, pediatric and neonatal intensive care units, the pediatric capacity command center and other clinical facilities.
The exchange provided an opportunity to strengthen international collaboration and share practical approaches to specialised pediatric and neonatal transport care.
