Surgeon.AI has launched a global artificial intelligence platform aimed at transforming how surgeons access education, develop clinical knowledge and navigate their professional careers.
Developed by surgeon and healthcare technology innovator Professor Shafi Ahmed, the platform brings surgical education, career development and personalised learning together in one AI-powered environment. It is designed to support surgeons from medical school and training through to consultant or attending-level practice.
A central component is ELLA (Education, Learning and Language Agent), an AI educational companion created to support surgical learners through personalised learning, explanations, questioning and reflection.
The platform also includes SurgeonOS, an intelligent learning environment covering surgical knowledge and examination preparation; SurgeonGPS, which provides career and professional development guidance; and SurgeonIE, an intelligence engine connecting users with education, mentorship, opportunities and collaboration.

Another key feature is the Surgical Acumen Index (SAI), an AI-driven developmental tool that tracks progress across six areas: knowledge, clinical reasoning, decision-making, operative understanding, evidence-based practice and professional practice.

Surgeon.AI will initially focus on surgical trainees and examination preparation, with plans to expand across specialties, training systems and countries. The longer-term goal is to support lifelong learning throughout surgeonsโ careers.
