18 December 2024- The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) has announced the election of Dr. Elizabeth A. Mittendorf as its President, effective June 2026. Dr. Mittendorf currently serves as the Robert and Karen Hale Endowed Chair in Surgical Oncology and Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a founding member of Mass General Brigham.
A long-time member and volunteer of ASCO, Dr. Mittendorf will assume the role of President-Elect following the ASCO Annual Business Meeting in Chicago on June 2, 2025, before stepping into the presidency the following year.
