8 tips for safer environment from radiation

By Ayesha Ayath Aslam

From Bluetooth earphones to wireless Wi-Fi routers, our lives are increasingly surrounded by radiation. It's high time we recognize its consequences and minimize exposure.

Maintain Distance

Keep cell phones, laptops, digital clocks, baby monitors, and other wireless devices away from the body. Increase distance in all ways possible to reduce radiation.

Turn Off & On

Turn on airplane mode in wireless devices, which stops all radiation (except mild battery energy). Turn off Bluetooth and wi-fi when not in use.

Safer Alternatives

Use wired connections or traditional devices to reduce exposure to harmful emissions. Ethernet, corded landline, old-fashioned alarm, wired earphones, etc.

Anti-Radiation Materials

While you can use tables to place your laptops, you can also resort to radiation blocking cell-phone cases, pads, paints, etc. Moreover, consider using blue-light glasses.

Smart Ways to Use

Communicate over call on speaker, turn automatic updates off, don’t keep a powered ON device in your pocket, download movies or books, and watch/read offline.

Sleep Safely

Turn off wi-fi, enable flight mode, and restrict electronic devices in your bedroom. If necessary, place it far away from you and charge devices outside your bedroom.

Earthing Helps

Avoid usage when emission is increased — traveling, streaming audio or video, downloading large files, applications running in the background, etc. Resort to grounding to rebalance yourself.

Pregnant & Children

Pregnant women must be extra careful & limit exposure. Keep wireless devices away from children's bodies and brains. Stay tuned to learn more about its effects on children.
